King of Kooks
King of Kooks Surf Media, a UK-based media project documenting and celebrating UK surf culture by focusing on the people, their stories, and the community behind the waves. They provide professional courses and surf qualifications approved by Surfing England.

What They Needed
A single home for the KOK community—part magazine, part classroom—where their films and stories pull people in and memberships keep them coming back. Practically: a course catalog with secure checkout, gated lessons, progress tracking, and certificate issuance for Surfing England–aligned training; tiered user accounts/memberships (free → paid) with recurring billing; an editorial hub for education blogs, how-tos, and gear guides (searchable, tagged, and SEO-friendly); instructor profiles, testimonials, and success stories; events/workshops with simple booking; and a private members’ area for downloads, perks, and community interactions. Design-wise: laid-back surf energy with pro polish; build-wise: fast, mobile-first, and scalable with a clean CMS so the team can publish, sell, and grow without a developer on call.
What We Did
We designed and built a membership-ready Webflow site with course pages, paywalls, and account flows (via a best-fit membership integration). A CMS powers articles and how-tos; the design carries a warm, editorial feel while keeping paths to purchase obvious.
